Artist Jane Elizabeth Bennett’s practice is an examination of the world in which she finds her self. To her, existence is filled with systems of discontinuity. Memories that fade, language that is inadequate and places that continually fracture and reform.

I am a visual artist working from my studio at Portland Works a former cutlery factory in Sheffield . My practice is an organic and open work structure .  I paint, make collages, use text from poems I have written and use found objects to experiment with processes and ideas. I have an allotment and use natural materials like clay in the work I make, these are often very textural and tactile.

Lisa uses ancient methods of making and drawing combined with new technology to capture sound as movement, movement as pattern and pattern as form. Using nature, songs and poems as data she creates analogue generative artwork and solid forms. Her work is generally small enough to be held in the hand to give a different experience and perspective of the original sensory source.
