    Lauren Dawson is a multidisciplinary visual artist from Northern Ireland, with an environmental focus. Lauren graduated with a BA Hons in Fine and Applied Art from the University of Ulster Belfast in 2008, and a Masters in Cultural Heritage and Museum Studies in 2010, specialising in art curating.

    I am a ceramist who uses unorthodox methods in my work, also I use mixed mediums in the ceramics They are all hand made and glazed. My work is unique as every piece is different and I only make one. My heads have lots of features and need to be seen by the eye to appreciate the details.     “As a designer, you are always drawing and visualising” “Many designers are frustrated artists. So, its time to put pen to paper.” He is not stuck to one medium.     I’m interested in the subtle communication of the environmental impact that humans have on our planet especially animals and water. Eg. Octopus Using everyday materials ‘found objects’ mixing them with other materials I plan to sculpt ‘The energetic quality of Water’ I trust that if my attention is on a ‘matter ‘the matter energetically changes.

    I am a photographer from a Fine Art background with a career spanning 4 decades producing work for Advertising Agencies and Designers. Throughout that time I have been fortunate enough to balance any commissioned work with my own personal practice, which ranges from Landscape and Industrial to Still life.     My practice centres on ceramics. Clay is mineral, elemental and millions of years old. A humbling material - it has a memory, just like us. I am inspired by the chaos of oxides, the magic of a kiln opening and leaning into the unknown.

    I am a London based artist who uses photography, digital manipulation, and sound to create images, video, and installations. Searching beneath the surface by unpacking the layers that we keep secure is a fundamental aspect of my work. Often nostalgic, sometimes beautifully melancholic, I make tender unsettling images drawn from my reflections of human behaviour.
