Her practice explores the relationship between materiality, structure and meaning, drawing on experience across textiles, print, and jewellery.     I am a Bradford based Chinese artist, a graduate of Yunnan Arts University in Kunming where I also qualified as a teacher. Although my personal preference is for abstract painting in oils, after taking up residence in The UK, I further developed my skills as a portrait painter. More recently, I was inspired to create landscapes after securing temporary studio space in Bradford city centre.

    I grew up in Zambia, studied Classics and Education at St. Mary’s University in London, and later graduated from Sheffield Hallam University with a B.A. Honours in Fine Art. As teacher and artist, my interests have often overlapped. I have exhibited in many English and European cities, as can be seen in my CV on this website.     Katie Lenegan (b.1978, Oldham) is an artist based in the Cotswolds. She studied at the Manchester School of Art, MMU and graduated with a B.A.Hons Degree in Fine Art and later a PGCE in Further Education. She is a member of the Manchester Academy of Fine Arts and her work is in both private and corporate collections.
