    I work with sculpture, installation, performance, and intervention to explore time, history, the deep feelings of things, and embodied human presence. Since graduating from my MA in 2020, I have situated my work both inside and beyond the gallery setting as a means to investigate the interaction between my work, space, and site. I am a member of The Royal Society of Sculptors and Spike Island.

    I am a multi-disciplinary artist, with 15 years of experience of socially engaged art / social practices projects. My work is informed by my Ph.D. thesis, activism and personal experience as a mix race person and migrant. Much of my work concentrates on themes of place and belonging, identify and social justice using photography, digital art and installations.

    I'm a new graduate of Fine Art working in pen and ink and I love to capture the little details of the world around me in Yorkshire. I've come to art after a career in archaeology, where observing and drawing the small details was an essential part of my role. These technical archaeological drawings form the foundation of my practice, inspiring me to look at the fine details around me.

    I am a designer maker working often in ceramics. I see the beauty in the broken, overlooked and discarded. My latest work was using fully fired ceramics that were in the bin and, crushing these up, I put them inside jesmonite sculptures. I want to highlight the moments in our lives where we feel broken, worthless and discarded... in order to remind us we are strong and valuable.

    Born in Lancashire, painting and drawing since a young child, I gained a degree in graphic design and pursued a career in design for over 25 years, whilst continuing to paint.     I work with conceptual art that incorporates natural processes: rain and the drying of simulated puddles on canvas, interactions between artefacts and honeybees, action painting with biochar in ritual performances, as well as traditional painting. My aim is to express the experience of unity between mind, body, nature, creation, and everyday life.
