    Julia Pomeroy, London (b.1998) is works in London and has exhibited with a range of galleries. Pomeroy graduated from the MFA at City and Guilds London School of Art in 2024 and she was awarded the Leverhulme Scholarship for her studies. She also studied at Leeds Arts University for her BFA in 2017-2020. Pomeroy is oil painter and also explores drawing and printing.

    Graduating in 1987 from Maidstone College of Art, with a Fine Arts BA (hons) degree I entered the world of teaching after gaining a PGCE at Bretton hall. My role as art teacher rapidly developed to head of department, head of faculty, to becoming an AST, and deputy head at a SEND School, Recently I was a teacher of nurture after 2 years of art, photography, teaching before retiring in Dec 2024

    I am a multi media painter and textile artist specialising in hand embroidery. I have a Bachelor of Arts (Hons) in Hand Embroidery for Fashion, Interiors and Textile Art.     Trained, practiced and taught Graphic Design turned to Printmaking as a main practice since 2017. Concentrated on Linocut initially predominantly 'Reduction'. Recently returned to college for an Adult learning Printmaking course and introduced to Tetrapak, Drypoint, Aquatint and other Intaglio processes which has expanded my outlook on many other possibilities and approaches.

    I create art using discarded confectionery foil from treats, repurposing them to spark imagination and evoke memories. As I navigate young-onset dementia, this art offers a vital form of expression.     My practice explores the relationship between movement, emotion, and texture through the dual mediums of oil paint and clay. Each piece is an intuitive dialogue between control and spontaneity, a balance that mirrors my personal experience of living with dyspraxia, where creativity becomes both expression and grounding.
