    I am a Visual Artist, Researcher and Maker specialising in textiles, who has recently completed an AHRC-funded practice-based doctorate at Northumbria University. I exhibit regularly both individually and as part of a collaborative partnership and art collectives.     Dave Mitchell is a Gay artist working predominantly on canvas particularly focused on the pervasive nature of darkness upon a world of colour, as a visual metaphor for mental health challenges in the modern age; primary vision is through the eyes of an LGBTQ+ adult.     I’m a colour-blind artist/cartoonist fascinated by the overlooked moments of everyday life. The way people interact with their surroundings, both living and inanimate, in ways that are often unnoticed.
