There is nothing more grounding than working by hand with raw materials and watching as it slowly transforms into a piece of work. This started by accident. As someone who has ADHD, it’s incredibly difficult to be still, and I feel the need to constantly be doing something with my hands.

Recently returned to college for an Adult learning Printmaking course and introduced to Tetrapak, Drypoint, Aquatint and other Intaglio processes which has expanded my outlook on many other possibilities and approaches.

Report this?Janes practice combines drawing, printmaking and embroidery. She works from her studio in Stockport, and exhibits regularly both nationally and internationally. Jane studied embroidered textiles at Goldsmiths college followed by postgraduate study at Manchester Polytechnic. Having lectured for 30 years at Manchester School of Art , Jane changed career in 2020 to become a full time artist.
