    Sue Dewhurst is a narrative painter whose work explores ordinary lives, overlooked people and changing communities through humour, social observation and nostalgia. Drawing on Northern working-class roots and her life in rural West Wales, she combines character, place and storytelling to examine memory, belonging and the social histories hidden in the everyday.

    I am a multidisciplinary artist working across sculpture, digital media, video and print. Her practice explores feminist themes, domestic labour and materiality. She reimagines household tools as metaphors for resilience and ritual.     I resumed making sculpture in 2014 and have since shown sculpture, audio visual pieces and drawing. I am interested in the experiences of new, older artists returning or starting to make art that takes into account contemporary practices. I make constructions that are material and tangible and whose component forms often have a direct relation to the features of the gallery or site.

    I am a teacher of Geography and until a few years ago I never thought I had a creative bone in my body. I then discovered wood turning and the joy of shaping wood as if it was clay. I have rapidly moved away from traditional wood turning and like to use a variety of non-traditional wood and different materials that enhance the wood. I like form and shape inspired by nature.

    I am a London based artist who uses photography, digital manipulation, and sound to create images, video, and installations. Searching beneath the surface by unpacking the layers that we keep secure is a fundamental aspect of my work.
