    I’m a Sheffield-based photographer with more than thirty years’ experience in commercial photography. My personal work focuses on the landscapes and woodlands of the Peak District, exploring our connection to place through trees, seasonal changes and quiet moments.     Originally from Moldova (formerly part of the USSR), I have called Harrogate home for the past 28 years. Since 1995, I've resided in the UK.     I'm a 53 year old Artist from Yorkshire, i Love to paint what is in my head. I do occasionally like to paint a portrait, usually a personality from a band. Having suffered with my mental health issues i find it a personally tailored therapy that seems to work well. I would like very much to share my paintings.

    Sophia Rosenthal was shortlisted for the Contemporary British Painting Prize 2024, and won The Judith Tucker Memorial Prize selected by Lubaina Himid, Griselda Pollock and Harriet Tarlo. Graduating with a Distinction in MA Fine Art at City & Guilds of London Art School, Sophia subsequently won the Standpoint Artist Residency Prize 2024 which culminated in a solo show, 'Golden Hour' 2025.
