    Dan Harland (b.1990) is a painter, born and based in Leeds, U.K. He graduated from Leeds Arts University in 2018 with a first-class BA (Hons) in Fine Art. He has recently returned to his practice after a career break.

    I'm a commissioning artist taking part in events and exhibitions. As well as cards and prints, I paint larger pieces, I explore the relationship between still life and landscape by exploring the use of line within my work as if a continuous conversation weaving through my art.

    I am an artist based in Cumbria, originally from South Yorkshire. My main focus within my art practice is to create sculptural artworks by recreating and repurposing items and materials that I collect, source and find. I also explore the use of other materials (such as wire, etc), other art practices (such as ink drawings, etc) and the making of decorative goods.

    My art is about bringing imagination to life through abstract and semi-abstract pieces. I work mainly with mixed media, using acrylic paint and inks, building up layers of paint, texture, and intuitive markings.     Ex Army Father of two beautiful girls and I work as a HGV driver in the UK. I got into art literally by accident, after a work place accident and recovering at home ,I took up pyrography to take my mind off the recovery. Since then and work permitting I do my art when I can. Only having weekends off from the road I love to dive into a piece for hours on end, the smell and sound is fantastic.
