    Clare Smith was born in Penang, Malaysia and was educated in England. She studied Oriental studies in Cambridge before spending 15 years in Luxembourg, returning to England in 1999 to study art as a mature student in Canterbury Kent and realise a long-held dream of making a life in the arts. Her mixed English/Chinese heritage informs her perspective on issues of identity and categorisation.

    Richard Kitchen is a visual artist and writer, and has taught literature and theatre in the UK and Spain. He currently co-manages a gallery and studio in York while making collages fuelled by his drawings, paintings, photographs and poetry. In 2020 he was awarded an MA in Fine Art at York St John University. He is also a a freelance editor and proofreader. He welcomes enquiries and commissions.

    I am a visual artist based in the north west of England. I studied BA Hons Fine Art at the University of Salford 2017 – 2020. In 2018 I won the Howarth Life Drawing Prize and traveled to Berlin with the bursary award. My current practice focuses predominantly on painting.     I am a multi-disciplinary artist, with 15 years of experience of socially engaged art / social practices projects.     Sara-Louise Dobson is a portrait artist and founder of the non-profit project Butterfly Portraits. Awarded Fellowship of the Royal Society of Arts in 2018, Sara now divides her time between private commissions and the project. Her portraiture is reflective of the current political climate, focusing on diversity whilst using experimental techniques.
