    Sophia Rosenthal was shortlisted for the Contemporary British Painting Prize 2024, and won The Judith Tucker Memorial Prize selected by Lubaina Himid, Griselda Pollock and Harriet Tarlo. Graduating with a Distinction in MA Fine Art at City & Guilds of London Art School, Sophia subsequently won the Standpoint Artist Residency Prize 2024 which culminated in a solo show, 'Golden Hour' 2025.

    I am a multi media painter and textile artist specialising in hand embroidery. I have a Bachelor of Arts (Hons) in Hand Embroidery for Fashion, Interiors and Textile Art. I have a very broad range of hand and machine stitching skills, which I can implement in traditional, contemporary embroideries and multi media genres.

    My practice explores the relationship between movement, emotion, and texture through the dual mediums of oil paint and clay. Each piece is an intuitive dialogue between control and spontaneity, a balance that mirrors my personal experience of living with dyspraxia, where creativity becomes both expression and grounding.

    Sinead Barker is a self-taught, neurodivergent textile artist whose work is rooted in her lifelong affinity and deep bond with animals.     I am a graduate professional artist with BA Fine Art First Class Honours 2006. I'm inspired by the landscape and create work that abstracts what I see and experience. Often working en plein air I create dynamic & colourful compositions. I'm inspired by abstract expressionism with rapid expressive mark making & striking colours of Fauvism.
