Report this?I am a rural Alberta artist whose practice combines dermestid beetle cleaning with intricate beadwork and painted designs on wildlife skulls. Each piece begins as a natural process, with beetles preparing the bone, and evolves into a work of art through hundreds of hours of hand-placed beads. My work explores cycles of life, death, memory, and renewal, transforming skulls into contemporary objects

Report this?As a child I loved to draw and paint, and as an adult would loved to have had the time to follow it up. However, work and family kept me busy. When I retired I promised myself I would join an art class and take it seriously. Though I don't hold a degree, I am still being very well taught, by excellent professional teachers .,so you are never too old to learn about something you love doing.

Report this? The first time I touched clay, it was a peaceful and comforting experience. There is nothing more grounding than working by hand with raw materials and watching as it slowly transforms into a piece of work. This started by accident. As someone who has ADHD, it’s incredibly difficult to be still, and I feel the need to constantly be doing something with my hands.
