    Sadly, my real name isn't Using Glue, that's a trade name sort of thing to reflect the fact that I use a lot of glue in my work. My real name is Shane O'Leary.     Dan Harland is a painter based in Leeds, U.K. He translates the collage of memory and imagination that occupies the mind's eye, in Oil and Acrylic.     I started out in art creating pencil pet portraits for friends and family. When these proved popular, I branched out and began experimenting with a variety of media, and a variety of subjects. I am always learning, and thoroughly enjoying the process. I decided to take the plunge and set up a website for my art earlier in 2025.

    My work anchors me to reality, a lens of visual translation that enables me to attempt to understand human thought and behaviour at a deeper level.     I'm a 53 year old Artist from Yorkshire, i Love to paint what is in my head. I do occasionally like to paint a portrait, usually a personality from a band. Having suffered with my mental health issues i find it a personally tailored therapy that seems to work well. I would like very much to share my paintings.
