    My practice is one of continuous transition & evolution. My current paintings explore ideas around the passing of time; the repetitive brush marks act as a visual representation of transience - counting out moments one by one. By repeating & building layers of marks, they create a pattern. The pattern, in turn, forms rhythmic motifs and forms that can be read as macro or micro views of the world.

    I’m Jane and I’m a fine silver contemporary jewellery maker. I came to art as an outlet whilst being a full time carer though I’ve always loved the arts especially galleries. I’m due to commence an arts degree in June 2026 to deepen my love of drawing.

    Printmaker and bookbinder I work from a small studio in rural West Wales enjoying all the benefits of living in the countryside with reasonable access to Swansea, Cardiff and Aberystwyth. I teach bookbinding to small groups of adults, accept commissions for special books and sell my work in galleries and craft shows.

    I am an author I studied for an MA in art and a BA graduated in both, and then went on to study psychology. I have done various psychotherapy courses and classes. I am now more into doing the thing I love most painting. I am from Cyprus my family were refugees in Cyprus. I have lived in England for over sixty years. I did a lot of work in catering.

    I am a painter who has moved into three dimensions. My painting is very classical in technique, using glazes to achieve tones and contrasts. The work is abstract in concept but in retrospect I find it grows out of my immediate and long term visual experiences.

    Originally from Moldova (formerly part of the USSR), I have called Harrogate home for the past 28 years. Since 1995, I've resided in the UK. Currently, I share my passion for art and photography as an educator at Harrogate Grammar School while continuing to refine my skills as a painter.     Stephanie Douet lives and works in rural Norfolk, and read Art History at UEA and Fine Art at NUA. She has exhibited both nationally and internationally, including V&A, Modern Art Oxford, Istanbul Art Fair, Creekside Open, the Museum of Legacies, Jaipur, with a solo exhibition at the Croatian Embassy in London in 2024. Douet was shortlisted for the Contemporary British Painting Prize in 2019.
