My practice is one of storytelling through various mediums, some might be painting with subtle narrative elements, straight forward illustrations or short animations. Mostly, I search for the subtle narrative weaved within aesthetics.

I am currently in my 3rd year of BA (Hons) Fine Art at Lancaster university. My practice is primarily focused around sculpture and installation, but my wide range of skills across a number of media allows my work to often fall into a multi-media catagory. My work is heavily abstract-expressionist.

In 2018 I completed an installation called The Tea Garden comprising drawings on 100 reclaimed plates. In 2019 I have been working both in monochrome and colour exploring my perennial theme of the Sacred Imagination.

I am a multi-disciplinary visual artist encompassing painting, photography, sculpture and landscape interventions. The landscape lies all around us, ever accessible and inexhaustible, offering a plethora of material to delve into its continual transformation. We are surrounded by an invisible landscape of spaces, colour, light, sound, movement and temperature.

www.mariaemilov.net I explore the vibrant texture of the image and painting. I feel captivated by the interference of the past and the different cultures in human life. My hope is that a work of Art could guide us a step further in the no man’s land of our past, acquired knowledge and realities check. Within Art, we are entering a powerful intellectual and emotional path in our communication.
