    I am a Yorkshire lass from Barnsley. I recently graduated from Hull with a fine art degree. I have immersed myself in creativity to cope with a long term illness fibromyalgia. Using open water swimming and the combination of a fibre arts based creative practice has seen i through difficult times.

Film work curated at Brighton Digital Festival, Borderless Lockdown and Kings Cross Film Festival 2022. I studied graphic design and illustration online at UAL.     My practice is one of storytelling through various mediums, some might be painting with subtle narrative elements, straight forward illustrations or short animations. Mostly, I search for the subtle narrative weaved within aesthetics.

    I have exhibited widely across the UK. I have work in both public and private collections in the UK, US, China and Middle East; my artwork is now far better travelled than I am. My oeuvre is predominantly drawing, but I also enjoy painting oil landscapes; portraits in a variety of media; and gelli printing. I also run art workshops.

    The first time I touched clay, it was a peaceful and comforting experience. There is nothing more grounding than working by hand with raw materials and watching as it slowly transforms into a piece of work. This started by accident. As someone who has ADHD, it’s incredibly difficult to be still, and I feel the need to constantly be doing something with my hands.

Often working en plein air I create dynamic & colourful compositions. I'm inspired by abstract expressionism with rapid expressive mark making & striking colours of Fauvism.
