    I am a neurobiologist by day and artist by night. I explore various topics directly impacting me like the emotional impact of chronic pain, the nature, and the science around me.     I make plein air drawings to enquire, to discover and to become involved with the landscape. Using mixed media gives me a vocabulary to describe my discoveries. Through my studio paintings I aim to distil those aspects of the subject which I find exciting: movement, pattern and complexity, multi- layering.

    Working with salvaged ecclesiastical glass, I use historical fragments to construct new paradigms of image‑making. Informed by early Renaissance craft, my practice reconfigures light, fracture and inherited forms for contemporary meaning.

    I worked in Engineering, but I always created Art in many forms. I started Ceramics a few years ago and have exhibited and sold around the country. I am interested in construction, deconstruction and re- construction. I also endeavour to do things that are unique to me. I have not studied past Masters or been influenced by others. Basically, I do not know how to do it wrong.
