    Ashley Cundall is a Manchester based British contemporary artist best known for expressive urban and architectural paintings, particularly of UK cityscapes and coastal towns. He works mainly in acrylic, mixed media, and watercolour, often combining loose washes with bold line work, using Impressionistic and Expressionistic elements.

    My art is about bringing imagination to life through abstract and semi-abstract pieces. I work mainly with mixed media, using acrylic paint and inks, building up layers of paint, texture, and intuitive markings.     I've been working in education as a technician in various guises for over ten years. This has given me a wealth of knowledge and encounters that crosses specialist subject areas and allows me to bring in processes from different specialism into my art practice. I am currently undertaking my Masters in History of Design run jointly by the RCA and V&A.
