    I produce limited edition fine art prints, etchings, Lino prints and wood engravings at my home based workshop using traditional methods with the aid of four antique printing presses from the 19th century. Founded my own ‘private press’ in 1974 titled Bracken Press.

    I'm an artist, educator and curator. I create sculptural installations, using recycled and found materials. At the root of my practice is the notion of interconnectedness, with a focus on environmental concerns about human exploitation of nature. Projects include step in stone '15 and B-Wing '19.     I am a teacher of Geography and until a few years ago I never thought I had a creative bone in my body. I then discovered wood turning and the joy of shaping wood as if it was clay. I have rapidly moved away from traditional wood turning and like to use a variety of non-traditional wood and different materials that enhance the wood. I like form and shape inspired by nature.

Always curious, my environmental roots run deep; using natural and human made detritus, repurposed and recycling fabrics, I utilise my knowledge, skills and passion to visually stimulate whilst encouraging discussions and spreading awareness of current environmental issues.

    Born in Nottinghamshire, Stuart Reid completed a Foundation course in Art and Design at Grimsby School of Art. He studied Fine Art at Falmouth School of Art and Birmingham School of Art (Postgraduate Painting). He lives in East London and works in a Space Studio. His paintings have been shown nationally and internationally and are in public, corporate and private collections.

    As a child I loved to draw and paint, and as an adult would loved to have had the time to follow it up. However, work and family kept me busy. When I retired I promised myself I would join an art class and take it seriously. Though I don't hold a degree, I am still being very well taught, by excellent professional teachers .,so you are never too old to learn about something you love doing.

    Sue is a contemporary yorkshire based artist gaining a Diploma in Fine Art, Jacob Kramer, 1993. BA Honours Degree in Art and Design at Bradford College In 1997. Exhibitions since; most notables The Royal Academy Summer Show 2024, Royal Cambrian 2023. Sue uses oil paint, to draw out intangible moments from specific memories. Layers of impasto being a striking feature within her work.
