    A relative newcomer to the world of art. Winner of the King Lear Prize for Art (Beginners) 2023. Working mostly in acrylics but also in pencil. I have an eclectic range of artwork from pop art to seascapes, cloud studies and flowers to pencil drawings. Currently I am experimenting with pallet knife painting and achieving some interesting results.

    Joy Bowhay is an artist living amongst the North Yorkshire Dales. Her main genre is landscape painting. She creates a sense of place within ethereal worlds, inspired by the countryside and nature that capture her imagination.     I create handcrafted patchwork bags using Harris Tweed pure wool combined with leather, organza, yarn, and layered machine stitching. Each textile panel is built from individually pieced fabrics, embellished with textured fibres and netting to create richly tactile surfaces. Alongside bags, I make framed textile landscape collages using fabric, embroidery, and yarn.

    Robyn Daly is an Irish-based fine art photographer whose work seeks to develop a new visual language through which women's lived experience can be expressed. Working with long-exposure performative self-portraiture in abandoned domestic interiors, she creates photographs that move beyond the fixed likeness to express the experience of inhabiting a body.

    As mixed media artist, I have worked as a textile artist since I took early retirement 14 years ago. Recently, I have also restarted water colour painting and my work now includes a mixture of paint, fabrics, stitch, hand weaving and embellishments. I have taken many courses on textile art techniques, printing, eco dyeing, paper making. etc.

    Jana Bareham is a printmaker working with mokuhanga, the traditional Japanese woodblock printing method that uses hand-carved woodblocks, watercolours, washi paper, and a bamboo baren. Rooted in natural materials and slow, tactile processes, her work reflects a deep respect for ecology and craftsmanship.

    Working with clay has always been my passion and escape. I graduated with a BEd Hons majoring in art and ceramics and taught for many years. Following early retirement I work in my studio in Hexham, Northumberland where I make small scale ceramic sculpture based on my immediate environment and on my relationships with landscape and within family.

    I've been on a creative journey for over 20 years, earning a Bachelor's and Master's in Fine Art. My work featured in exhibitions like "Come As You Art" and "Mirror Mirror on the Wall" in 2021, even amidst COVID-19 challenges. I also designed a poster for "The Shadow Pandemic" in Brighton, raising awareness about domestic abuse during the pandemic.
