    I live in Knaresborough where I have a home studio. I graduated in Fine Art Painting at Wimbledon School of Art with a postgraduate at Goldsmiths University, London. I also studied printmaking at the Curwen Print Study Centre receiving my diploma from Sir Stanley Jones. I have exhibited at The Royal Academy of Art, The Society of Women Artists, and The Royal Institute of Painters in Watercolour.

    I resumed making sculpture in 2014 and have since shown sculpture, audio visual pieces and drawing. I am interested in the experiences of new, older artists returning or starting to make art that takes into account contemporary practices. I make constructions that are material and tangible and whose component forms often have a direct relation to the features of the gallery or site.

    I am a sculptor working predominantly in bronze and Cor-ten steel, producing sculptures for both indoor and outdoor settings. I have also produced work for large public sculpture commissions and am available for private commissions.     Amy Sterly is originally from Chicago and received a B.F.A. in drawing and sculpture from Rockford College, Illinois in 1986. She moved to the U.K. in 1989 and has since exhibited throughout the UK, Europe and the USA. She is exploring ways of using domestic objects to make prints and installations. Collaborations and public interventions are an important aspect of her practice.
