    Nicola Woodham is a live artist bringing together sculptural etextiles, drawing, vocal improvisation and noise. In 2019 she began an intensive journey into creative technology and now hand-makes wearable sensors from electronic textile materials and codes for embodied audio performances. Currently open to invites for opportunities without entry fees.

    MOD - Marcela Olivia Dorantes an emerging artist that works between London, UK and Washington, DC. Dorantes has been painting since early childhood. MOD examines the interactions of wildlife, domestic animals and humans to express the experience of expansiveness, intimacy, domesticity and remoteness. I spent 15 years rescuing animals. I spent long periods of time in Europe.

    I have come from street art, putting elephant sculptures out in opportune locations in cities in the UK and other countries, and moved into installation and performance with a series of installations called Love Machines. These are experiential pieces in which participants are invited to undertake a ritual which uses the placebo effect to remove fear.

    Im primarily a print maker but also a mixed media artist who uses a mixture of collage, Lino and gel printing to create art. My inspiration comes from the natural world.

    I'm based in Leeds and currently painting is at the forefront of my practice. The paintings are about the people I know and landscapes that are painted from memories of special places. I attempt to exhibit the work regularly, and curate solo and group shows at 'Gallery 16', a venue in my house. I have also created many sculptures, mosaics and murals for the public realm.

    I grew up in the heart of the textile industry, and spent many childhood days playing amongst the derelict mills that are our heritage. After travelling extensively, I was drawn back by the rugged and remote beauty of the Pennines. My passion is capturing the drama of our landscape, its social and industrial heritage and the lives of the people who lived and worked here then and now.
