    I am a teacher of Geography and until a few years ago I never thought I had a creative bone in my body. I then discovered wood turning and the joy of shaping wood as if it was clay. I have rapidly moved away from traditional wood turning and like to use a variety of non-traditional wood and different materials that enhance the wood. I like form and shape inspired by nature.

    I'm a ceramic sculptor who loves clay. The infinite possibilities of clay as a medium appeals to my need to constantly evolve my work as well as my love of learning and challenging myself. I love trying new techniques and pushing the boundaries with much of my work now single fired. Teaching adds another layer to that as I run a membership, classes and workshops from my Cambridgeshire studio.

    My work touches on themes of belonging, mythology, memory, identity and the female gaze. In my creative practice, I enjoy exploring the symbolism behind water, waterlilies, lotus flowers, landscapes and the female body. I believe that my mixed heritage has been a rich source of material to work with, as I experiment with oil paint and mixed media on canvas.

    Printmaker and bookbinder I work from a small studio in rural West Wales enjoying all the benefits of living in the countryside with reasonable access to Swansea, Cardiff and Aberystwyth. I teach bookbinding to small groups of adults, accept commissions for special books and sell my work in galleries and craft shows.

    Sarah completed a degree in textile design and worked as a colourist and print designer for several years before taking up her career in Education. Although not formally trained in the Fine Arts, she uses her knowledge of print and colour to create her own unique style.     Derby based artist Nicki Dennett creates multi-layered, mixed media prints inspired by life around her. Nicki’s continual observation of her environment and an appreciation of all aspects of existence inspire her work. Research and development of materials are key to my work and continually filling sketchbooks are often the idea basis for my handmade prints.
