    I am a contemporary visual artist working across sculpture, installation, new media (bio) art and sound. Based in the North East of England, I exhibit nationally and internationally. I have a PhD in Fine Art from BxNU Institute of Contemporary Art, Northumbria University (2018). My process-based practice is collaborative and multi-disciplinary and engages with the concept of life as material.

    Christine Thomas is a fine artist with a multi-disciplinary practice and often works with textiles. Her areas of interest include locational identity and the domestic, often from a feminist perspective and explore the use of nature and the domestic. She uses practice led research methodology to inform of her experimental processes with materials from a feminist perspective.

    I work with sculpture, installation, performance, and intervention to explore time, history, the deep feelings of things, and embodied human presence. Since graduating from my MA in 2020, I have situated my work both inside and beyond the gallery setting as a means to investigate the interaction between my work, space, and site. I am a member of The Royal Society of Sculptors and Spike Island.

    Im an abstract painter, with great sensitivity, who creates his works by bending reality and sometimes even touching on irrationality.     Following my graduation from a Fine Art Degree in 1993, I qualified as an art teacher, teaching art for over twenty-five years in various settings, including mainstream schools and referral units for children excluded from school. My understanding of art and how students can be encouraged to create has enlightened, inspired and enriched my understanding of the practice and process of making art.

    Emily Joy (UK, 1982) is a socially and environmentally engaged artist making sculpture, installation, and performative work. Emily is also a ceramic sculpture tutor and facilitates public creative projects as half of creative partnership ‘Periscope’. Currently exploring Swiss glacial melt and associated ecological and social impacts, her practice centres around communication, empathy and ecology.
