    I have returned to creating my artwork after a number of years working in TV/Film as a Buyer/Set Decorator, through which I have developed a passion for sourcing and collecting unusual, salvaged things which I incorporate into my work. My collages are based on my own photographic images taken on various travels which I then work into mixed media collages using rich textures, colours and details.

    Working with a range of materials I develop surfaces through sensory expressions, that evolve into portraits and landscapes. These become dynamic and intimate works that emerge from gestural mark making and experimentation with pigments and grounds. Self-portraits begin with a process of tactile observation of my own face. Landscapes are documented through sketches on site throughout the seasons.

    I am a painter, educator and scholar. I live and work in Bristol (SW England) and St Davids (SW Wales). I am not a ‘landscape painter’, but my abstract work is informed by both these environments. I am 66, and have one son. I live with my partner and work from home.
