    I live on a small sheep farm in Suffolk making and drawing. Having left school at 15 yrs old because I hated sitting at a desk and being confined; I spent my teens and twenties working and always moving looking for something that drove me but kept me still. Finally in my thirties I sat down long enough to learn to draw. I now draw in 2D and 3D on any object I can find to use as my ‘canvas’.

    As a Peruvian artist have research and depicted pre-Columbian art and how is reflected in a contemporary context, together with the awareness of climate change and its influence on its habitants from ancient times till now, were human intervention contributes to it.

    I am currently producing work that is a a combination of paintings and mixed media relief pieces that combine embroidery, paper clay, precious metal clay, paper, watercolour, ink and found objects. Each piece is accompanied with a poem about and as a response to the physical work. I also work as a development librarian.

    My ceramic sculptures possess a strong voice and, and a bold narrative about contrast, visual drama and playfulness. They are visually and haptically exciting. I have an MA in ceramics, and exhibit my work in the UK and abroad. My ceramics have been shortlisted for a number of prizes.

    After a successful and fulfilling career spanning nearly 2 decades as an Art Teacher, I left the profession in 2018 to become a freelance visual arts facilitator .     I am an artist working with painting and photography. My focus is to explore patterns and shapes in the natural world which emerge through movement, repetition, and chance. A starting point might be movement of leaves in the wind, chance outlines of branches, fleeting shadows, or patterns in the light. We respond to these phenomena in an emotional way, and this is what I am really exploring.

    I am a Scottish photographer, filmmaker, artist and educator who lives in Lewes, East Sussex. Being brought up on a farm has contributed heavily towards my practice. I enjoyed a lot of freedom, but my existence was quite isolated which, in hindsight, instilled an ability to work alone and an urge for self-expression.
