    Sarah Tomlinson is a textile and mixed media artist based in Birmingham. Over the past two years she has been exploring a theme of ageing as part of a City and Guilds Diploma course. Coming from a background of mental health Sarah is interested in how to visually portray emotions and abstract concepts. Her work explores layers of identity and memory.

    Sadly, my real name isn't Using Glue, that's a trade name sort of thing to reflect the fact that I use a lot of glue in my work. My real name is Shane O'Leary. In previous incarnations I have dug ditches, marketed pornography and written increasingly deranged reviews of increasingly bland records before finally growing up and becoming an artist.     I am a neurodivergent artist making art about living with neurodiversity through ceramics, drawing, painting, printmaking, installation and sculpting. I was born with autism, am dyslexic, have a high IQ, went through an event aged 17 and then another linked event aged 18 that left me with PTSD and that caused developmental issues in my brain leading to the symptoms of ADHD now being prevalent.

After transitioning to glass art, a stroke in 2019 reshaped his practice.
