    My name is Gemma Yates and I'm a painter from the UK. I love to paint natural forms such as flowers, trees, figures and thriving landscapes.     During total isolation, in lockdown, I painted over a 164 artworks up to date. I also took up meditation which allowed my imagination to flow again. It was cathartic and eased the trauma from what was happening in the outside world. Life is returning back to what was before, but with a greater sense of appreciating family and friends, united.

    I have been working as a sculptor and upcycle artist for nearly a decade, turning discarded plastic and found materials into meaningful sculptures that carry my personal reflection. My work is inspired by a deep love for humanity and the sacredness of nature. Using simple symbols like ant to represent land life and fish for aquatic life, their stories speaking to many human truths.
