    London based artist working across drawing, sculpture and installation. Graduated in BA Fine Art, Central Saint Martins (2016) and is a member of the Royal Society of Sculptors. In 2024 she was awarded Art Council Funding to undertake a paper residency in the US. Recent exhibitions include Rana Begum Curates: Opposing Forms at Pallant House Gallery, Chichester and Analogue, Hypha HQ, Euston.

    Sam Haynes started her practice over twenty five years ago creating site specific public art installations, engaging local communities. Her creative process is still all about making connections, incorporating found objects and materials, using low tech methods of construction to create abstract, geometric assemblages that reference architectural space.

    I am a British artist working out of a studio in Hertfordshire, near to London. I have been practising as an artist for 20 years. I incorporate traditional and contemporary artistic techniques to create an altered sense of reality. I explore the complex relationship between human life and the natural environment, portraying a world that is dramatic and beautiful, as well as constantly changing.

    I am a photographer and a qualified teacher. I tutor workshops in basic digital photography and cyanotype printing. My main practice is in documentary photography. I also have a passion for Camera Obscura and have designed and built my own portable CO. Inspired by largescale artworks I also have a passion for light paintings and abstractions made at night.

    I am a multimedia 3D artist, specialising in ceramics. My work is responsive – responding to ideas, events or collections of objects. My work develops from this initial response, considering how this can be represented in a contemporary way within the context of my material practice.     I am interested in exploring photography as ‘Inframedium’, playing with the boundaries of the photographic object, its material ‘nature’ and the visual possibilities that exist within it. Stripping away the ‘Apparatus’ of the camera and thus stepping out of the arena of the technical image, I am exploring a different set of gestures with which to reveal the material’s phenomenological potential.

    My work is a reflection of the scars left on me from the horrors of my past. Though my emotions are constantly evolving, an undercurrent of suffering persists. The pain I’ll always remember. I strive to create art that captures the complexities within my subconscious. Raw, unadulterated, free. Language fails to have the words to express my innermost feelings, but on a canvas I am free.

    I produce limited edition fine art prints, etchings, Lino prints and wood engravings at my home based workshop using traditional methods with the aid of four antique printing presses from the 19th century. Founded my own ‘private press’ in 1974 titled Bracken Press.
