Artist Jane Elizabeth Bennett’s practice is an examination of the world in which she finds her self. To her, existence is filled with systems of discontinuity. Memories that fade, language that is inadequate and places that continually fracture and reform.

An artist and psychologist, I explore the human experience from my academic activities. I illustrate psychological phenomena, theories and concept in light of the current social context and of our future. As a result, my visual language presents itself in iconic, timeless and geometric forms. Science and art converge into a visual artform of heightened aesthetic sense and vivid compositions.

I work with different media - mainly sculpture, drawing and video. I am intrigued by the idea that survival and societal progression are similar things, each helping to bring about a continual cycle of renewal and obsolescence. Whilst decay, deterioration and neglect are central themes of my practice, I am also interested in the quest to transcend that which is deemed ordinary.

An experimental printmaker using etching and other print making techniques. The work is concerned with the process of transformation of discarded and forgotten books into new printed images. The pages from books make the imagery emulating the landscape, the prints become imaginary map like places. A new 2 or 3 dimensional narrative emerges from the old books as they form a new printed landscape
