    I'm Lucy, an artist based in Derby. I love to paint realistically in oils and acrylic, and dabble in mixed media. Nature is a huge source of inspiration and I also find challenging but rewarding to paint portraits and attempt to capture someone's personality in the painting.

    Though rooted in printmaking, my MA in Fine Art (UAL) encouraged me to expand my practice to include installation and assemblage. I use a range of media including traditional (e.g. print, ceramics) and newer technologies (e.g. laser cut) which I combine to stretch possibilities. My work reflects the range of human experience, with dementia and the working poor among my subjects.

    With an eye for intricate detail and curiosity for pre-owned items, my work focuses on how an object evokes personal comfort through recognition and familiarity. Inspired by everyday objects that often go unnoticed, from matchsticks to hook-and eye fastenings, I create handcrafted jewellery and personal possessions, some of which are wearable and others merely companions to our everyday lives.

    I'm a 53 year old Artist from Yorkshire, i Love to paint what is in my head. I do occasionally like to paint a portrait, usually a personality from a band.     My practice is one of continuous transition & evolution. My current paintings explore ideas around the passing of time; the repetitive brush marks act as a visual representation of transience - counting out moments one by one. By repeating & building layers of marks, they create a pattern. The pattern, in turn, forms rhythmic motifs and forms that can be read as macro or micro views of the world.
