    Working with clay has always been my passion and escape. I graduated with a BEd Hons majoring in art and ceramics and taught for many years. Following early retirement I work in my studio in Hexham, Northumberland where I make small scale ceramic sculpture based on my immediate environment and on my relationships with landscape and within family.

    My practice operates at the intersection of Neo-Expressionism and Pop art, fusing raw street art aesthetics with supernatural iconography and the historic subversion of Polari slang. This multidisciplinary visual vocabulary serves a singular purpose: to document the contemporary queer narrative across its triumphs, systemic setbacks, and the friction of daily existence.

    Graduating in 1987 from Maidstone College of Art, with a Fine Arts BA (hons) degree I entered the world of teaching after gaining a PGCE at Bretton hall.     I am a Scottish photographer, filmmaker, artist and educator who lives in Lewes, East Sussex. Being brought up on a farm has contributed heavily towards my practice. I enjoyed a lot of freedom, but my existence was quite isolated which, in hindsight, instilled an ability to work alone and an urge for self-expression.
