    Ebru Clegg was born in Istanbul, Turkey. She embraced different cultures by travelling through Europe and living in Geneva for several years in the 2000’s. While she was living in Istanbul, she had the pleasure of working with numerous international art galleries (Turkish, French, British and German) to exhibit her work.     Since my training at Edinburgh College of Art I have been inspired by nature. My mission explores the emotional symbolism of my subject matter and seeks to distil the image to enhance this. I am a slow meditative painter. This process puts me in touch with the healing spirit I inherited from the medics in my family.     Graduating in 1987 from Maidstone College of Art, with a Fine Arts BA (hons) degree I entered the world of teaching after gaining a PGCE at Bretton hall. My role as art teacher rapidly developed to head of department, head of faculty, to becoming an AST, and deputy head at a SEND School, Recently I was a teacher of nurture after 2 years of art, photography, teaching before retiring in Dec 2024
