    I am a neurobiologist by day and artist by night. I explore various topics directly impacting me like the emotional impact of chronic pain, the nature, and the science around me. I mainly use charcoal as a medium of artistic expression to empower the dark and messiness of charcoal representing my vision.

    During total isolation, in lockdown, I painted over a 164 artworks up to date. I also took up meditation which allowed my imagination to flow again. It was cathartic and eased the trauma from what was happening in the outside world. Life is returning back to what was before, but with a greater sense of appreciating family and friends, united.

    I am a multi-disciplinary artist, with 15 years of experience of socially engaged art / social practices projects.     I am primarily a painter, based in the east of England. I apply the philosophy of collage to the materials of painting. Since graduating from Chelsea College of Arts M A course in 1998 I have worked with an archive of materials generated in the studio ( canvas offcuts and dried films/puddles/fragments of paint) to construct images from imagination and memory.

    I have been painting for 20 years now and love every minute. I work from home in my studio. I exhibit in the south east art fairs and London. I paint mainly large figurative pieces based on travels and city visits, I love to incorporate story and a sense of peace within each painting.
