    I am a trained textile and surface pattern designer and have been fortunate to have travelled extensively to which has inspired the majority of my art work. I enjoy working with multimedia and utilising digital technology for the final piece. I am inspired by the combination of colourways in landscapes, nature and abstract imagery.

    Born in Liverpool, UK. Studied Fine Art in Liverpool and Coventry, and worked as a community artist. Returned to full-time education for MA at Winchester School of Art, and then awarded a bursary for a PhD at Nottingham Trent University.     I am a UK based, mixed media artist working primarily in encaustic. Alongside my art practice, I promote and educate about this 2500 year old technique, determined that this ancient medium experience a resurgence in the UK as it has in the USA. My process involves building up layers of encaustic paint (molten beeswax, tree sap and pigment) on wood, adding fire to fuse (bond) the layers together.
