    I am a mixed media artist and Designer/ Maker I have always been interested in interdisciplinary or mixed-media arts exploring different mediums, i trained in the North East of England at university of Northumbria in Newcastle. recently designing and building structures for festival installation.     I have returned to working as an artist after a long career as a Mental Health Nurse and have rediscovered the joy that creating art can bring. I work primarily with printmaking, working from a group studio in the Rossendale Valley in Lancashire. My surroundings, amongst the valleys on the edges of the Pennines, inspire my use of foraged, natural materials in my work.

    I make paintings about what it is to be human and our dis-connection from the natural world. I am inspired by Adam and Eve and how paradise lives in our psyche as both a longing for home or mythical place. My work as a psychotherapist is mirrored in the psychodrama of the work, the painted surface and imagery reflecting our fractures, flaws, both psychological/physical, and our wish for love.

    Exploring psychological and cultural permutations of space guide the focus of Peel's practice. When making work she thinks about how changing the context of space can relocate it into a new spectrum of reference. Her work is deeply embedded in the appropriation of images and material.     Jenny Baines is an artist whose practice explores the relationship between the body, screen and space. Working predominantly with 16mm film, she performs repeated often absurd actions for the camera, pushing the limitations of her own physical endurance.

    As an artist and crafts person most of my adult life in a variety of disciplines, in the past 20 years I have been concentrating on working in two different areas.. CERAMICS creating mosaic pictures using my hand painted ceramic tiles, which are fired before breaking to create the design. and POLYMER CLAY, producing jewellery and recently miniature land and seascapes.
