    My passion is for fabric and stitch, my background in illustration, fashion and hand-embroidery. Recently my practice has grown using new methodologies to create large-scale installations and interactions.     As a studio-based painter I rely on photographic images. These are often those found on social media or then internet. As a gay man I am also interested in exploring the multiplicity of images and ideals we are presented with and redefining the idea of masculinity. My work explores narrative, colour, line, composition, and mark-making to evoke an emotion or develop the narrative within an image.

    I am a painter who has moved into three dimensions. My painting is very classical in technique, using glazes to achieve tones and contrasts. The work is abstract in concept but in retrospect I find it grows out of my immediate and long term visual experiences.

    Printmaker and bookbinder I work from a small studio in rural West Wales enjoying all the benefits of living in the countryside with reasonable access to Swansea, Cardiff and Aberystwyth. I teach bookbinding to small groups of adults, accept commissions for special books and sell my work in galleries and craft shows.
