    My visual arts practice derives from a sense of place and community anchored in politics and experiences of a working-class background. Printing offers me the materiality and medium to experiment with images of strength and violence, representing tactile anger in keeping with present times. I make woodcuts, lino and wood engraving, as well as the traditional medium of etching and aquatint.

    Embroiderer and wordsmith, Catherine Hill is a multi-award-winning contemporary textile artist based in the UK. Her artistic vision is drawn from her childhood memories growing up in the English county of Lancashire in the 1970’s. Easily recognised for her creative use of hand embroidered text, she has been exhibited in the UK, USA, Germany, Switzerland, Brazil, Ukraine & Australia.

    My work explores, identity, space and belonging through memory and migration. I specialise with analogue film and photography, combining this with digital mediums to create layered pieces of artwork. I have a special interest in exploring stories from the past, stories of migration and transition of cultures in today's society. I am one of the founders of an artist collectives called COVert Arts.

    I am an abstract artist, producing photography and mixed media miniature scenes . After graduating in art photography, I worked in a fine art studio and in between, exhibited at V&A, Stills Gallery, Mall gallery London and in New York, Paris and Vienna.     I started out in art creating pencil pet portraits for friends and family. When these proved popular, I branched out and began experimenting with a variety of media, and a variety of subjects. I am always learning, and thoroughly enjoying the process. I decided to take the plunge and set up a website for my art earlier in 2025.

    I'm a 53 year old Artist from Yorkshire, i Love to paint what is in my head. I do occasionally like to paint a portrait, usually a personality from a band. Having suffered with my mental health issues i find it a personally tailored therapy that seems to work well. I would like very much to share my paintings.
