    I come from a family of painters and studied Fine Art at 'A' Level. I have been painting landscapes regularly since 2013 and, having retired from a career in nursing in 2015, am now a full time artist, painting and drawing and have studied portraiture under Andres Jaroslavsky and Luke Thompson. I also hold classes in portraiture (both drawing and painting) and landscape painting around Leeds.

    Ross’ practice is centred around nature in an urban environment, a sense of place, utilising and repurposing found and recycled materials are key to both sustainability & minimising my artistic footprint. Examining the relationship with nature that surrounds us; time, identity, consumption and history informs these concerns, inviting us to view things in a different way.

    I am a leather jewellery maker based in South Yorkshire. I use re cycled leather and experiment with paint, heat and metal leafing to form unique pieces of jewellery . I am a self taught Artist and maker and I absolutely love what I do. I am always keen to explore new ideas and collaborate with people upon interesting projects.

    I am a multi-disciplinary artist, with 15 years of experience of socially engaged art / social practices projects. My work is informed by my Ph.D. thesis, activism and personal experience as a mix race person and migrant.     I trained as a sculptor at Kingston University and Chelsea College of Art, U.A.L. I have taught drawing at the City Lit, at Camberwell College of Art and the University of Hertfordshire and have held residencies at the Drawing Centre at Wimbledon Art College, the Geography Departments of Royal Holloway, University of London, and Exeter University, amongst others.

    I'm a textile artist/writer with an employment history of working in the textile trades, for whom cloth has to be the natural substrate for my texts and photographic images. My themes are to do with communicating care for our environment through noticing it, and demonstrating how the knowledge and language of the hands is not yet lost.
