    I'm a fine artist and illustrator. I have taken part in events and exhibitions, I have taught at various times over the years. As well as selling my cards and prints through my business lalabuds: I am now developing my painting and art practice as Rebecca Carr Artist, I explore the relationship between indoor still life, outdoor landscape and the link between.

    I create sculptural lights using repurposed materials and everyday objects. My latest projects are a collaboration between my brother and me. The lights we craft together originate from ordinary items that we assemble into articulated shapes, which we then enhance with carefully selected paper and fabric coverings, along with a bespoke light source, resulting in beautiful, tactile lights.

    Currently, I am primarily interested in exploring human/nature discourses through a narrative practice that engages with objects (natural and human-made), representation, and employing a range of processes and means of making.     I am a conceptual artist based in London. I moved to London from Ukraine in 2001 and have been a part of Studio Fridays until 2022. I am self taught and draw my inspiration from the connection between humans and nature, exploring transience, change, grief, loss and ageing. I am the Ambassador of Arts 4 Dementia & run community workshop for people with dementias.

    I have been painting and exhibiting since 1998 and spent 12 years in Vietnam where I owned a gallery. I am so happy to be back in my native Yorkshire. My recent watercolour and acrylic works concern themes such as Origins, Belonging and the Joy of Life. I believe in the honesty of art and follow where my inspirations lead me.
