    I am a multi-media artist based in Yorkshire working in sculpture, performance, photography, video, printmaking and artist’s books. Much of my work is inspired by and takes place in, the landscape around me. Often I am the only audience for my on-site installations, works translated into artist’s books and digitally printed images, crossing the boundary between documentary and primary artwork.

    Dave Mitchell is a Gay artist working predominantly on canvas particularly focused on the pervasive nature of darkness upon a world of colour, as a visual metaphor for mental health challenges in the modern age; primary vision is through the eyes of an LGBTQ+ adult.     My practice is one of storytelling through various mediums, some might be painting with subtle narrative elements, straight forward illustrations or short animations. Mostly, I search for the subtle narrative weaved within aesthetics.

    I'm an artist, educator and curator. I create sculptural installations, using recycled and found materials.
