    I have been painting and exhibiting since 1998 and spent 12 years in Vietnam where I owned a gallery. I am so happy to be back in my native Yorkshire. My recent watercolour and acrylic works concern themes such as Origins, Belonging and the Joy of Life. I believe in the honesty of art and follow where my inspirations lead me. Inspirations include Hundertwasser, Doig, Hurvin Anderson and Hockney.

    After a successful and fulfilling career spanning nearly 2 decades as an Art Teacher, I left the profession in 2018 to become a freelance visual arts facilitator .     Derby based artist Nicki Dennett creates multi-layered, mixed media prints inspired by life around her. Nicki’s continual observation of her environment and an appreciation of all aspects of existence inspire her work. Research and development of materials are key to my work and continually filling sketchbooks are often the idea basis for my handmade prints.

    I am a neurodivergent artist making art about living with neurodiversity through ceramics, drawing, painting, printmaking, installation and sculpting. I was born with autism, am dyslexic, have a high IQ, went through an event aged 17 and then another linked event aged 18 that left me with PTSD and that caused developmental issues in my brain leading to the symptoms of ADHD now being prevalent.

    I am an artist and designer living and working in York, UK. I grew up on the edge of Dartmoor and studied fine art, illustration and graphic design in Exeter and York. My paintings and drawings explore wild natural landscapes through instinctive and expressive mark-making and enquiry into colour, and have been exhibited in England and Wales.
