    I am an artist and designer living and working in York, UK. I grew up on the edge of Dartmoor and studied fine art, illustration and graphic design in Exeter and York. My paintings and drawings explore wild natural landscapes through instinctive and expressive mark-making and enquiry into colour, and have been exhibited in England and Wales.

    Rachel (they/them) is a prolific, intuitive artist who has been practicing since graduating in1990 from Central Saint Martins School of Art, London. They follow where their creativity takes them on the day; using sketching, linocut, mono printing, sewing and painting. Having grown up in the Peak District, Rachel has lived in London, Boston and New Zealand and is now loving Norwich.

    My practice specialises in printedTextiles weave and mixed media art. I currently work as a SEN TA, this is a challenging and rewarding role. I had created fun workshops for the children to participate and learn. Geliplate, weaving printing. I collect items that would normally end up in landfill, ready to experiment and explore new possibilities.

    Creative expression has always been intrinsic to my life having worked with pencil, pen and ink, lino cut, oil pastel, watercolour and acrylics. After retiring in 2017 I followed my passion for mid century design restoring and selling sewing boxes internationally.I then returned to mixed media work in 2021 focusing on alcohol inks on birch ply to enhance the beauty of the wood grain initially
