A Studio holder at Assembly House, Wood's practice is an exploration through different materials she haptically engage with using the hand of the maker and symbolic objects to create anthropomorphic sculptures. I have always been interested in the medium but had only dabbled in it in the past. However with the time and solace of lockdowns in 2020 I found I could explore and experinment uninterrupted. I enjoyed a lot of freedom, but my existence was quite isolated which, in hindsight, instilled an ability to work alone and an urge for self-expression.
