    I am a multidisciplinary artist based at Ebor Studios, Rochdale. I am a recent graduate Scholar of UOS Art collection where I have work housed. I am the winner of a People’s Choice award at Warrington Contemporary Arts Festival and was nominated for a Create Art & Design Award UOS.     Matt Hooper is a self-taught professional linocut printmaker, working from his studio in Leeds. He makes linocut prints following both the traditional Japanese Woodblock style and more contemporary linocut methods, a reflection of his passions for both subjects. After 30 years in a Leeds print factory, Matt left with the goal of making every piece of paper into something beautiful.

    Exploring the exciting properties of encaustic beeswax has been my passion for several years. First used by Ancient Egyptians as a painting medium, it saw a resurgence last century and has continued to flourish. Still relatively unknown in Europe, but once discovered, never forgotten. When I first took up my brush and dipped it into molten wax and pigment I knew I was hooked!
