    Having studied Fine Art at Reading University my passion to share my love for sculpture and ceramics led me to later graduate from Edge Hill University as a teacher of art and design. After 13 years teaching sculpture, ceramics, and fine art to pre-degree students, sharing my time between artist and educator, I now work as a full-time ceramic artist in my garden studio in West Lancashire.

    I am currently a MA student studying Illustration at Cambridge School of Art. Previously, I studied Ceramics and craft Art at Sichuan Fine Arts Institute in China. My work spans sculpture, installation, painting, and illustration. My creative themes mostly revolve around existentialism, the unnoticed cracks in everyday life, and the subtle emotions evoked in humans.

    I am an artist and musician, sometimes combining both by playing soundscapes on the hammer dulcimer and hurdy gurdy within a gallery exhibition. I am currently working with Stroke Clubs to create digital banners of their work with me in workshops. I recently recovered from losing the use of my left arm and hand by creating paintings and music with the left hand.

Kate works primarily with acrylic paints, oil pastels and crayon, on both canvas and wood.     I trained in theatre design at Central St Martins and have worked within the creative arts for over 25 years in fields as diverse as making carnival costumes to lead designer on a Bafta winning computer game. My work explores themes such as mental health and politics through a masquerade/ carnival lens.
