Born Bury Lancashire 1943. Goldsmiths College and ATC Course. On the ATC Course I became a student of Anton Ehrenzweig, whose emphasis on the process of searching for and testing out ideas with words, drawings and paintings in what he called “Tease & Worry Books” in order to find, clarify and develop meaningful imagery, became the necessary core of my work.

I am an artist working primarily with ceramics. I was born in France and now live and work in London where I graduated from City Lit College. My work examines how we respond to emotional experiences such as memories, loss and sense of belonging. I make abstract sculptures that look like they have been found rather than made and challenge our expectations and perception of ceramics.

I am an artist painting on glass and paper to create 2d and 3d works. My work is strongly narrative and explores the interaction of people and landscape aided by birds. My starting point was as a painter using watercolours and mixed media, around 2000 I began to study stained glass and I have continued to develop approaches to painting and sculpting with stained glass and paper.

Places that exude a sense of past, a public fascia and private interior; where a gap or an interval might pervade their decline or revival, are an ongoing source of enquiry. Familiar but often estranged, transitory or abandoned, I examine how such sites of heterotopia simultaneously reflect and disturb the spaces that surround them.
