My work expresses music and sound in colour. I create abstract paintings, mixed-media work and installations inspired by my personal experiences of sound-colour synaesthesia – when I listen to music, each note of the musical scale is perceived as a specific colour. I am due to complete my MA in Fine Art in Autumn 2019. I am a musician in my spare time, playing violin and viola in local orchestras.

I have a BA (HONS) in Applied Arts and have run my creative business Rustydusty since 2008. I am predominately a textiler and work in various textile disciplines. I have come back to my line and watercolour art after recently being accepted in the Lanzarote Art Festival. The experience of going over to Lanzarote to deliver workshops inspired me to use colour and develop my line work.

I was born and raised in County Durham and began a Fine Art Degree later in life after a professional career in mental health. Concern with vulnerable bodies and minds and that lived experience not surprisingly found its way into my art work and the way this can be expressed in the making process.

I am a visual artist based in Glasgow. I work across a range of disciplines – including installation, drawing, painting, print, sculpture and video – to create artworks in response to chosen locations, often as self-initiated residencies, where I will spend time working on site, directly from my chosen subject. My works are often exhibited in the spaces to which they relate.

I am a silver jewellery designer. My work is inspired by Skipwith Common National Nature Reserve, behind my studio, near York. I love to create 3D jewellery: little pictures featuring the woodland, with robins and blackbirds, and the moon peering through the trees. I work in sterling silver and silver clay, creating my own textures from drawings, and moulding the clay into little features.
