    I make detailed paintings, drawings and installations depicting marginal areas. I use traditional methods and materials in a unique way, building my work up in a layered practice that refers to both etching and primitive photography. I am based in London. I m a former recipient of the Jerwood Drawing Prize and was shortlisted for the John Moores Prize in 2014, winning the Visitors Choice.

    I have always loved liminal moments and have spent a lot of my art career trying to grasp, express, explore it and what I understand that to mean. It surfaces in landscape, moments of beauty; melancholy perhaps and in the figure as moments of being slightly removed, distant, ambiguous. Consequently I don't feel constrained to a particular medium and am happy with paint, photography print and clay

She has a particular interest in invisible rituals - how we use them in institutional and everyday settings, and how we can playfully reconstruct them to serve us.     Kate studied Fine Art in London, Brighton and Falmouth; currently based at Trewarveneth Studios in Newlyn, Cornwall.     Designer maker that uses both precious metals and base metals to make jewellery that tells stories. I use my childhood, my teenage years and life itself as inspiration. 80's Japanese art, fashion and music all had an influence on my ideas from the first minute I entered the world of jewellery way back in 1985.

    I am a woodcarver, artificer and artisan pictorial sign maker. My sculpture is often for memorials, both for highly personal private remembrance and for Public Spaces. All my work is concerned with sustainability, climate change and environmental responsibility. My work has been exhibited widely in the UK and online. I sculpture in the Public Collection and on permanent display.

    I trained as a sculptor at Kingston University and Chelsea College of Art, U.A.L. I have taught drawing at the City Lit, at Camberwell College of Art and the University of Hertfordshire and have held residencies at the Drawing Centre at Wimbledon Art College, the Geography Departments of Royal Holloway, University of London, and Exeter University, amongst others.
