Mystically connected to nature, her writing, moving images, and drawings explore the emotional, imaginative, and soulful experience of embodied life.     I am a painter who has moved into three dimensions. My painting is very classical in technique, using glazes to achieve tones and contrasts. The work is abstract in concept but in retrospect I find it grows out of my immediate and long term visual experiences.

    Rachel Anderson is a textile artist and designer working from East Yorkshire. Primarily specialising in freemotion machine embroidery, Rachel also works with fabric design, mark making and other textile techniques. Her textile works often combine structure and fluidity, designing fabrics based on hand marbled prints which juxtapose the rigidity of the drawn elements that sit on the surface.

    My work follows two parallel yet colliding lines, shaping and complementing each other. I compose space, and space shapes me. The serenity of one form mirrors the Dionysian force of another. I work with ordinary materials, embedding them in familiar structures that fade when left untouched. Beyond the rational and the known, does a pure, simple order exist, hidden behind the everyday haze?

    I make handmade jewellery in silver and 18ct gold and a wide range of precious stones, with textures and patterns drawn from close up images of beetles, their wing cases, articulated legs, antennae and focus sing on their jewel like qualities. My work also finds inspiration from landscapes where I create jewellery, prints and small paintings inspired by the landscapes of Iceland and Sweden.
