    I use digital media to create surreal images from photographs using clouds, eyes and dandelions to produce striking images that can be both strong and fragile. I am a multi-disciplinary artist with a background in graphics, fashion design and portraiture.

    Milena Makani is a German abstract painter based in London, living with Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome. Utilizing acrylics, watercolors and inks on mineral stone sheets, Makani created anatomic and deeply psychological abstractions that lend a visual language to her lived experience with disabilities and permanent pain as she explores themes of resilience, energy, serenity, fragility, stoicism and joy.

    I am a woodcarver, artificer and artisan pictorial sign maker. My sculpture is often for memorials, both for highly personal private remembrance and for Public Spaces. All my work is concerned with sustainability, climate change and environmental responsibility. My work has been exhibited widely in the UK and online.     Creative expression has always been intrinsic to my life having worked with pencil, pen and ink, lino cut, oil pastel,watercolour and acrylics. After retiring in 2017 I followed my passion for mid century design restoring and selling sewing boxes internationally.I then returned to mixed media work in 2021 focusing on transparent alcohol inks on birch ply to enhance the beauty of the wood grain.
