    Based in the UK East Midlands, I became a full time artist in 2019. Semi abstract in nature, my work combines a fine art background and a long held fascination with wood in all forms. Sustainability underpins my practice; resource management and contributing to art communities is very important to me.     A recent MA Graduate interested in colour and the way light, movement and scale change perception of colour. Inspired by the principles of Reuse/Recycle, Permaculture Gardening, I'm a 'magpie', exploring 'something from nothing', time passing during a process. Each body of work I produce is varied but I'm looking at the same factors; how colour and light affects (inside/outside) materials.

    Zippy is a queer Irish visual artist working within the public realm ot create site-specific murals, sculptures and textile art. Renowned for her striking large-scale murals, crisp graphic designs, and playful use of colour, Zippy's work aims to interweave with public spaces, serving as a vessel for narratives deeply rooted in location, storytelling, and the culture of the area.

    In 2024 I became aware of the huge potential of acrylics so have switched across from watercolours that I have done for 10 years or so. Loving the fact that you can use almost anything to create a picture and it is a far more creative media. I use the brand name 'Random Acrylics' because they will be exactly that as you will see what you want to see.

    I am currently producing work that is a a combination of paintings and mixed media relief pieces that combine embroidery, paper clay, precious metal clay, paper, watercolour, ink and found objects. Each piece is accompanied with a poem about and as a response to the physical work. I also work as a development librarian.

    A disabled artist having to experiment using my non dominant hand, I love to capture a feeling or beauty within my art. Charcoal was the very first thing I picked up and I'm venturing from this trying to recycle my "canvas'" and drawing on anything I can find and reuse. I believe my art maintains a stylised appearance on account of the deliberation and consideration having to be factored in.
