    At 35 I have experienced the world as a medical doctor, a woman with fertility issues, a mother and a human with an emotional response to the realities of life. I am now in a place where I want to use my experiences as a doctor to influence my art; invoking thought to instigate change. Putting the spotlight on inequalities in health, using art to share voices of real stories to empower.

    I'm Mont Carver, a visual artist passionate about storytelling through mixed media. I studied film in Mexico City and took an arts course in Madrid. Currently, I'm pursuing a master's degree in professional photography. I also work as a video editor.     I am a mixed media artist often working large scale and with a range of materials and techniques and currently exploring ideas around the Art of Disconnection. I am embarking on a residency at Fremantle Arts centre, Western Australia from January - March 2020 to develop these ideas and creative new work in a different cultural space.

    I am a graduate of Reading University and the RCA. Currently I have a studio at APT in Deptford, London. I have exhibited continuously since 1977 both in terms of static installations but more recently involving projection onto objects. These include reconstructions of the night sky and orreries using 00 scale model railways. An online catalogue of small works and movie shorts support this.

    I studied at Kingston University and the Royal Academy, London and have exhibited throughout the UK and abroad including Spain, Germany, Iceland, Korea and USA. I work with site responsive installation and numerous media. My work takes the form of energy fields unexpectedly made visible, with a core theme of renewal, linking to environmental issues and spirituality in its broadest sense.
