I am a freelance photographic artist. Within my work I am interested exploring the possibilities of the transformation of the everyday.  I work on commissioned pieces with performers and also collaborate with friends and family who appear as subjects within my photographic work. I would describe my style as darkly enchanting and familiar yet uncomfortably strange.

I am a special needs teacher by day working within the senior leadership team of a service for assessment of children with complex and additional needs. My form of escapism is my work as an artist, something that I am redeveloping and expanding through partnership with Norfolk Street Arts. Based in York I have illustrated a number of graphic novels and so the pencil is the artistic tool that I am most familiar and comfortable with. I have developed a fine art style that uses graphite as part of a mixed media and collage style and I am currently using the theme of spirits, either of a place or an event, to explore subjects that posses a personal resonance.

My practice concerns the public's engagement of colour and consumerism. Colour being a fundamental aspect of daily existence, as the overlook RGB composition on our television sets. Learning from the laws of scientific research to place within a context of contemporary art. Then the aspect of consumerism becomes fascinating, as colour psychology is apparent within commercial spaces.
