    I am a Yorkshire lass from Barnsley. I recently graduated from Hull with a fine art degree. I have immersed myself in creativity to cope with a long term illness fibromyalgia. Using open water swimming and the combination of a fibre arts based creative practice has seen i through difficult times.

    I started out in art creating pencil pet portraits for friends and family. When these proved popular, I branched out and began experimenting with a variety of media, and a variety of subjects.     I am a sculptor whose work investigates identity and the way we portray this in the world through the forms of our clothing and our architecture. Both are seen as metaphors for the body and for human experience. I have been investigating this relationship for 20 years.     I grew up in the heart of the textile industry, and spent many childhood days playing amongst the derelict mills that are our heritage. After travelling extensively, I was drawn back by the rugged and remote beauty of the Pennines. My passion is capturing the drama of our landscape, its social and industrial heritage and the lives of the people who lived and worked here then and now.
