    I am a multi-disciplinary artist, with 15 years of experience of socially engaged art / social practices projects. My work is informed by my Ph.D. thesis, activism and personal experience as a mix race person and migrant. Much of my work concentrates on themes of place and belonging, identify and social justice using photography, digital art and installations.

    Every artwork is an invitation to pause. I don’t create paintings simply to be looked at. I create spaces to be entered. Mixed media, conceptual artist exploring emotional memory through textured abstraction, found objects and sculptural surfaces. Through painting, photography, travel or writing, create layered works that invite viewers to slow down, look deeper and discover what often unseen.

    I am Olamide Adesola aka Ayo'lamide. I have a masters degree in Fine Art from Teesside University and a BSc degree in Fine Arts from Obafemi Awolowo, Nigeria. I started art as a young girl.     I am a sculptor whose work investigates identity and the way we portray this in the world through the forms of our clothing and our architecture. Both are seen as metaphors for the body and for human experience. I have been investigating this relationship for 20 years.
