    I am an artist and freelance curator. I hold an MA in Contemporary Curation from Norwich University of the Arts. I have been sculpting professionally since 2011. My work is figurative and inspired by folklore and the natural world. I work mainly in paperclay, recycled materials and mixed media. I teach workshops in paperclay sculpting.

    I come from a family of painters and studied Fine Art at 'A' Level. I have been painting landscapes regularly since 2013 and, having retired from a career in nursing in 2015, am now a full time artist, painting and drawing and have studied portraiture under Andres Jaroslavsky and Luke Thompson. I also hold classes in portraiture (both drawing and painting) and landscape painting around Leeds.

    I started working with black communities in the beginning because I felt that when members of the black community were engaged in my work, I could claim the title of visual artist. I see my work as an intervention into spaces of intergenerational wealth created by triangular trade. I also see the work as claiming and occupying space that is raced white for people of colour.

    I am a mixed media and installation artist dedicated to externalizing the internal.     Ross’ practice is centred around nature in an urban environment, a sense of place, utilising and repurposing found and recycled materials are key to both sustainability & minimising my artistic footprint.     Milena Makani is a German abstract painter based in London, living with Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome. Utilizing acrylics, watercolors and inks on mineral stone sheets, Makani created anatomic and deeply psychological abstractions that lend a visual language to her lived experience with disabilities and permanent pain as she explores themes of resilience, energy, serenity, fragility, stoicism and joy.

    I am a graduate professional artist with BA Fine Art First Class Honours 2006. I'm inspired by the landscape and create work that abstracts what I see and experience. Often working en plein air I create dynamic & colourful compositions. I'm inspired by abstract expressionism with rapid expressive mark making & striking colours of Fauvism.
