Nigel Glaze is a Shropshire based contemporary landscape and portrait artist whose paintings are inspired by simple processes of looking and feeling. His work captures both gestures on faces and an emotive reaction to a sense of place. Nigel’s work tries to capture a sense of looking past the obvious and connecting with how we see the world through the lens of our inner emotional experiences.

I am a multimedia 3D artist, specialising in ceramics. My work is responsive – responding to ideas, events or collections of objects. My work develops from this initial response, considering how this can be represented in a contemporary way within the context of my material practice. I am inspired by objects and work that can evoke a response and curiosity in the viewer.

Romanian by birth, British by choice, I have worked as an artist since I finished my Masters Degree at Bradford University in 1999. Having worked and traveled to a few different countries, I would consider myself to be an artist with a broad interest in the people I meet and places I see.

I am a recent Master’s graduate from Teeside University that, now, lives in Sheffield, and resides at Gloam Studios. My works possess a potentiality in which they almost do something and nothing simultaneously.

I graduated from Camberwell College of Arts in 2015 and I investigate the corporeal and abstraction of the human form, mainly with paint. I explore Julia Kristeva’s writings on the abject, confronting our shared mortality and our bodies being pure matter. This year I had a solo show at Wigan S.T.E.A.M, got to round two of the Aesthetica Art Prize and was shortlisted for the BEEP Painting Prize.

Cutting across media, my practice researches, reinterprets and reimagines histories of the body, and ancient artefacts and rituals through the domains of performance, sculpture, photography, print and the book, food, participation, and writing. Often triggered by the processes and lived experiences of my own body, which are employed through the visceral as well as the narrative.
