I'm a British artist working in paper. I studied art in London, initially at the Sir John Cass School of Art, and then at Central Saint Martin’s majoring in sculpture. Largely human-centred and moving between figuration and abstraction, the work explores ideas around the opposites: fragile/robust; surface/subsurface; build/raze; expose/conceal with a deepening focus on current social issues.

Kelly Boyle is a self taught multi-disciplinary artist that creates using an intuitive process. They have a love for the natural world, sensory pleasures, stroking random dogs and eating cake. Growing up as an 80’s kid, they enjoyed cartoons and had an appreciation for tapered line work used in manga artwork.

Over the years I have studied many arts and crafts.I now focus on painting fine art using acrylic, recently experimenting with watercolour and mixed media. My crafts back ground has inspired and fuel'd my chosen path of painting. Art brings to life my experiences, memories and dreams, propelling me into fantasy landscapes and out of this world.

I am a teacher of Geography and until a few years ago I never thought I had a creative bone in my body. I then discovered wood turning and the joy of shaping wood as if it was clay. I have rapidly moved away from traditional wood turning and like to use a variety of non-traditional wood and different materials that enhance the wood. I like form and shape inspired by nature.
