“I’ve always wanted to create a new language of figurative art- something natural and pure, something without gender, rase or political affiliations- something that transcends all the standards set up by our society and comes back to our beginnings, to our own creation- Made Out Of Love”.

My work explores partially occluded family narratives associated with loss and trauma. I engage family members in the collaborative re-fabrication of emotionally freighted photographs, objects and garments using photoetching, textiles, text and audio recordings of fragments of testimony. I find the process of re-fabrication aligns strongly with our capacity to fabricate anew our narratives.

My practice crosses performance, sculpture and moving image, inhabiting a flickering state between rational and non-rational realities, to create powerful mash-ups, hybrid half-truths, not-quite-lies. My work is in the Saatchi Collection and was exhibited in ‘Known Unknowns’ at Saatchi Gallery throughout 2018. I have performed at the Tate Modern and at performance festivals in UK and abroad.

A constantly evolving lexicon of characters is created which when combined allude to a narrative of solitude and personal reflection. The intention is to create a dialogue, pose a question – to have the conversation. Whatever the subject or medium each image and each stroke is individual yet the sum is far greater than its component parts. Whether in colour or monochrome, images convey an assembl

I'm an interdisciplinary artist and educator working in the UK. My works often encompass live data visualisation, mapping systems, performance, photography and installation underpinned with conceptual rigour. Working within the intersection of art and science, I consider collaborations with scientists and other researchers to be a key element in my work.

I'm a visual designer based in Coventry, and an art fellow at Birmingham Open Media (BOM) 2018/2019. Born in China, grew up in Hong Kong and later educated and settled in the UK, it meant my social experience and point-of-view is always a mix of East and West - constantly observing, responding and questioning the beauties and flaws in both cultures.
