    I trained as an architect and I am an academic/practitioner across architecture and sculpture. I am a studio holder in the Ceramics Starter Studio Programme at Yorkshire Artspace, where I have been developing my sculpture practice concerned with embodied explorations of materiality that value failure, fragility, and accidents to redefine strenght and acceptance.

    I'm based in Leeds and currently painting is at the forefront of my practice. The paintings are about the people I know and landscapes that are painted from memories of special places. I attempt to exhibit the work regularly, and curate solo and group shows at 'Gallery 16', a venue in my house. I have also created many sculptures, mosaics and murals for the public realm.

    I am an eco-conscious photographic artist based in Cornwall, UK, taking inspiration for my work from my coastal and rural surroundings. I predominantly employ nature-based photographic processes and/or digital techniques to create images that spark conversation about our diverse environments and our impact on them.     During total isolation, in lockdown, I painted over a 120 artworks. I also took up meditation which allowed my imagination to flow again. It was cathartic and eased the trauma from what was happening in the outside world. Life is returning back to what was before, but with a greater sense of appreciating family and friends, united.

    I grew up in the heart of the textile industry, and spent many childhood days playing amongst the derelict mills that are our heritage. After travelling extensively, I was drawn back by the rugged and remote beauty of the Pennines. My passion is capturing the drama of our landscape, its social and industrial heritage and the lives of the people who lived and worked here then and now.
