    As a sculptor/installation artist, I weld, weave, wrap or ravel steel wire into most of my work. Routes, boundaries and voids created help me understand connections and liminality. The wire is manipulated into weightless ethereal structures, barely visible yet imposing. With the involvement of my body and the inclusion of light, space, movement and sound, uncanny immersive environments emerge.

    Before re-emerging as a photography artist my background was in furniture painting, fashion, and family shoots. I am self taught and have no formal education in art. I am inspired by the beautiful West Sussex countryside where I live, and my fascination for trees and architecture.     Matt Hooper is a self-taught professional linocut printmaker, working from his studio in Leeds. He makes linocut prints following both the traditional Japanese Woodblock style and more contemporary linocut methods, a reflection of his passions for both subjects. After 30 years in a Leeds print factory, Matt left with the goal of making every piece of paper into something beautiful.

    My visual arts practice derives from a sense of place and community anchored in politics and experiences of a working-class background. Printing offers me the materiality and medium to experiment with images of strength and violence, representing tactile anger in keeping with present times. I make woodcuts, lino and wood engraving, as well as the traditional medium of etching and aquatint.
