    Emma is an embroidery artist who works with recycled ,aluminium, drinks cans. Using ancient design techniques such as engraving and goldwork embroidery. After burnishing the inside of the can turns a golden colour which she sews onto. The contrast in materials is a focal point of her practice. She also woks on site specific settings and immersive projects.

    My name is Gemma Yates and I'm a painter from the UK. I love to paint natural forms such as flowers, trees, figures and thriving landscapes.     I’m a plein air painter based in London, my artistic practice is almost exclusively rooted in plein air (outdoor/from life) location based observational painting. I find that through painting outdoors the quality of light and feeling I get from the places I visit comes across in the sense of place in the paintings capturing a moment in time.

    Though rooted in printmaking, my MA in Fine Art (UAL) encouraged me to expand my practice to include installation and assemblage. I use a range of media including traditional (e.g. print, ceramics) and newer technologies (e.g. laser cut) which I combine to stretch possibilities. My work reflects the range of human experience, with dementia and the working poor among my subjects.

    I am a freelance photographer with a wide range of photographic interests, so I don't specialise in any particular genre.     I am by definition an abstract artist who mainly specialises in painting. I use acrylic paint and mixed media to create my artworks, typically on large abandoned photographs, paper or canvas. The general theme behind my work is rooted in environmental issues and explores the contrasts between a natural existence and a synthetic environment that many of us find ourselves living in.

    Katy works with Merino wool, using felting and embroidery to create landscape stories. Changing skies, seasons and rural scenes inspire her beautiful pictures. She is currently making wearable accessories and clothing using the same techniques. Katy has exhibited her work for some years and can be found at local artisan fairs and shops. She is a member of the International Feltmakers Association.
