    I am a teacher of Geography and until a few years ago I never thought I had a creative bone in my body. I then discovered wood turning and the joy of shaping wood as if it was clay. I have rapidly moved away from traditional wood turning and like to use a variety of non-traditional wood and different materials that enhance the wood. I like form and shape inspired by nature.

    I am an artist working in Sheffield painting and sculpting alongside welding, making and restoring to make money. I went to art college in tI mid 80's for an art foundation course and failed it so not really trained but not fully an Outsider. At 60 I was diagnosed with combined Autism and ADHD and discovered an underlying cause for many situations I have been in that have influenced my work

    Having studied Fine Art at Reading University my passion to share my love for sculpture and ceramics led me to later graduate from Edge Hill University as a teacher of art and design. After 13 years teaching sculpture, ceramics, and fine art to pre-degree students, sharing my time between artist and educator, I now work as a full-time ceramic artist in my garden studio in West Lancashire.

    I am a woodcarver, artificer and artisan pictorial sign maker. My sculpture is often for memorials, both for highly personal private remembrance and for Public Spaces. All my work is concerned with sustainability, climate change and environmental responsibility. My work has been exhibited widely in the UK and online.     I am an artist and founder of Oriel Cardi Bach, an independent contemporary gallery in Cardigan, West Wales.
