I have painted since I was ten years old, throughout my career in fashion design and later interior design. I use everyday scenes as well as those from travelling, and am inspired by nature and the seasons, with the variation in moods and colours they bring. I started painting in oils and in the last few years have developed a passion for soft pastels.

I make things using antler, combining it with wood, silver, and gold leaf to create sculptural forms, containers and jewellery. Mainly I use red deer antler from Scotland, but I also use reindeer antler from Lapland and other types of antler and bone. I also work with ply-split braiding, making bowls, vessels and sculptural forms. I prefer to use linen and British wool.

Much Gabriel Embeha’s work has the effect of creating challenges to and actually disarming the use of biography in attempts to interpret it. It provides narratives in which he exists unfixed in terms of person, place and thing.
