    I am a freelance photographer with a wide range of photographic interests, so I don't specialise in any particular genre.     Katherine James is a Leeds based contemporary artist and jewellery maker. She is best known for her unique re-imaginings of armour, made by crafting chainmail into many different forms and materials to alter its symbolic values. Her chainmail works have varied from lace patterns to semi-melted to chaotic disorder. Lately her practice has explored the relationship between charcoal and silver.

    I was born in London in 1953. Studied Fine Art (painting) at Sheffield School of Art and Design graduating with an Honours degree in Fine Art in 1975 I have travelled extensively in Europe, Asia, Africa, Australia and Iceland.     I am a graduate professional artist with BA Fine Art First Class Honours 2006. I'm inspired by the landscape and create work that abstracts what I see and experience. Often working en plein air I create dynamic & colourful compositions. I'm inspired by abstract expressionism with rapid expressive mark making & striking colours of Fauvism.
