    Matt Hooper is a self-taught professional linocut printmaker, working from his studio in Leeds. He makes linocut prints following both the traditional Japanese Woodblock style and more contemporary linocut methods, a reflection of his passions for both subjects. After 30 years in a Leeds print factory, Matt left with the goal of making every piece of paper into something beautiful.

    I am a graduate professional artist with BA Fine Art First Class Honours 2006. I'm inspired by the landscape and create work that abstracts what I see and experience.     As a child I loved to draw and paint, and as an adult would loved to have had the time to follow it up. However, work and family kept me busy. When I retired I promised myself I would join an art class and take it seriously. Though I don't hold a degree, I am still being very well taught, by excellent professional teachers .,so you are never too old to learn about something you love doing.
